Septembre 2001, des avions s'écrasent sur le World Trade Center et le Pentagone, blessant et tuant des milliers de personnes. Les jours qui suivirent, le monde commença à débattre de la notion de terrorisme dissimulée derrière celles-ci. Une atmosphère de terreur et de panique s'ensuivit, tout particulièrement aux Etats-Unis. Mais celle-ci ne dura pas longtemps : le monde entier commença bientôt à s’interroger sur la meilleure méthode pour combattre le terrorisme.

Sitôt l’Amérique remise du choc du 11 septembre, elle se réunit avec un grand nombre d’autres pays afin de lancer une guerre mondiale contre le terrorisme. Dès le début, cependant, les responsables de cette puissante coalition déclarèrent ouvertement qu'il ne leur suffirait pas de lutter sur le plan militaire uniquement. De quelle manière la lutte contre le terrorisme devrait-elle être menée ?

Ce livre se concentre sur la seule voie permettant de l’éradiquer : par le biais de la paix, de la tolérance et de l’amour. Ce livre avance des exemples du Coran, ainsi que de la Torah et des Evangiles, afin de montrer comment chacune des trois religions divines interdit le recours à une violence injustifiée. Il propose également des exemples permettant d'expliquer que la seule manière de lutter contre le terrorisme est d'en guérir les causes fondamentales via l’amour, la tendresse, la compassion, l’humilité, le pardon, la tolérance et les conceptions de justice que la morale de la religion inculque aux gens - que, selon le verset du Coran (Sourate Yunus, 25) : "Allah appelle à la demeure de la paix... " De tels personnes fortunées s'évertueront à bâtir un monde empli de paix et d’amour.
